The corporate mission of Genesis Realty Group (GRG) is to create long term, viable, and affordable rental housing that provides the core for maintaining vibrant neighborhoods in which families in New York City and its surrounding areas can thrive and real estate investments can grow.

CORPORATE OVERVIEW

Genesis Realty Group LLC (GRG) has owned and managed real estate in metropolitan New York for 30+ year, and re-branded in 2007. 

The Principals of GRG are seasoned property owners, developers and managers committed to providing quality affordable housing with high level property and asset management services to its residents and long- term investment value for building owners. 

The expertise and dedication of GRG’s leadership has lead to its ownership and management portfolio of about $250M in assets/2500 rental and commercial units throughout the New York Metropolitan area. GRG currently operates in an array of markets, ranging from Market Rate rentals to Rent Stabilized properties, Federal, State and City-funded properties, Affordable LIHTC developments, Supportive Housing, Market Rate, and Commercial real estate. As a full-service Property Operations and Asset Management firm, GRG utilizes its construction affiliates to provide building services for all new construction projects, moderate building rehabilitations and capital improvements.

Executive Management team

Jac Zadrima - Principal

Jac holds an MBA from Fordham University and is a licensed Real Estate Broker, LIHTC-TaCC Certified, and a certified HPD Property Manager and 7A Administrator who has been active in the New York real estate market since 1986. Jac has been an industry leader involved in commercial real estate and property management spanning 30+ years. He has orchestrated countless transactions in his extensive career including the acquisition, management, development, private financing, New Market Tax Credit financing and construction of rental properties in the New York area. He co-founded Genesis Realty Group for further third party management and development, now overseeing $250M in assets and counting, continuing the organization's long term planning, financing and acquisitions. Additionally, Jac sits on the Board of the Bronx County Historical Society, BMNAR, CHIP and other prominent real estate industry organizations to ensure property owners and residents alike equally thrive in the communities where GRG’s portfolios call home.

William Fernandez - Principal

William’s background is that of a classic American Dream. Beginning his real estate career as a painter immigrating to New York City, he partnered with clients in the multifamily real estate industry and has become a seasoned real estate professional and investor who has been actively engaged in construction, acquisition and management of apartment buildings in the New York metropolitan area for over 30 years. William has been responsible for the renovation, development and construction of dozens of apartment and commercial buildings. William's management oversight includes all of GRG’s construction and project management including moderate building renovations, energy efficiency retrofits, and new construction projects.

MacKenzie Forsberg - Principal

MacKenzie holds a BA from Binghamton University and is a licensed Real Estate Broker, LIHTC-TaCC Certified, and a certified HPD Property Manager and 7A Administrator who has worked in an owner-operator position for over 15 years and is highly proficient in Rent Regulation Laws and Compliance. MacKenzie leads GRG’s Green Management initiatives to protect the environment in which we work and increase clients' cashflow through projects such as Steam to Gas Hydronic Boiler Conversions, Solar Panel Installations, and Lighting Retrofits. She manages NYSERDA & Willdan Incentive Programs, energy- related Local Law Compliance, and Energy Monitoring of our Building systems. She spearheads business development and new property management acquisitions, aids in underwriting and financing for new acquisitions and refi’s, and oversees property and regulatory operations. Additionally, MacKenzie sits on the City of Yonkers Planning Board and is heavily involved in several Women in Business Organizations in NYC and Westchester County, BMNAR, CHIP and other business related organizations.

Shaun M. Belle - Partner

Shaun holds a degree in Economics and Business Management from Howard University and is a Graduate of the Columbia University Institute for Non-Profit Management and has served as Alumni Speaker (1997 & 1998, 2007) and Program Advisor and has completed Harvard University Graduate School of Business Executive Education Program. Shaun's experience includes over 15 years in real estate management and development as a CEO, private owner and developer. Shaun has developed and structured over $75 million in 230 affordable rental units, including Low Income Housing Tax Credits, 202 Senior Housing and affordable condominium developments. Commercial development experience includes a 36,000SF community facility developed utilizing New Markets Tax Credits and city capital funds, to build a state of the art Green and Sustainable Designed building. Shaun manages GRG's LIHTC Tax Credit funded projects' reporting and compliance.

Mario D'Onofrio ' Chief Financial Officer

Mario holds a BS in Accounting from Iona College and is an accomplished accounting and financial professional with over 30 years of experience. Prior to joining the Genesis family, Mario has held management roles as Vice-President of Asea Brown and Boveri, Treasury Center, and Senior Manager of Finance for the Eastern European Region of Avon Products, Inc. Mario directs all financial matters for the company, including financial reporting, accounting and financial administration. He oversees the investment of GRG funds, manages associated risk, supervises cash management activities, and executes capital raising strategies to support the company's expansion.

Frank Lopiano ' Financial Supervisor

Frank holds a BS in Accounting from Mercy College and has been a practicing accountant in real estate management for over 30 years. Frank supervises the Accounts Receivable/Payable departments, financial reporting to investors, lenders, and government agencies, tax certiorari applications, Real Property Income & Expense reporting to the NYC DOF and acts as administrator for GRG’s Human Resource Department. He manages lender debt servicing, W&S Programs, property insurance, liability matters, and is proficient in all things DHCR related. Frank is also a licensed Notary Public and NYS Real Estate Broker.
